My Journey

Raised between the soft dunes and shifting blues of Lake Michigan and the hum of Grand Rapids’ city streets, I grew up learning to hold stillness and motion in the same breath. The shoreline taught me patience; the skyline taught me ambition. Together, they shaped the rhythm of who I became.

Uprooting myself from West Michigan’s forests and wide-open waters and replanting in the dense, electric cityscapes of East China, I’ve learned to carry my sense of place like a compass. In the swirl of new languages, unfamiliar streets, and neon nights, I’ve discovered a broader horizon, one that stretches far beyond where my roots began, yet still draws strength from them.
